Everyone knows I have nothing important to say. This is where I showcase my unimportantness.

Grades & Katrina

I thought I'd brag a bit. It might not mean much to you, but it sure does to me! I got my western civ. exam back yesterday and I made a 92! I definitely suck at history, so this grade was very exciting. I have to thank Jessica & Laura for studying with me the night before the test . . . we all made A's so I think we should do that again.

On the other hand, I made a 77 on my first microeconomics exam. I would have made a B on it had I not messed up. Let me explain, on multiple choice answers that I'm not sure about, I mark out the ones that I know are not right, process of elimination - elementary, right? Well on two questions that I did this on, I ended up choosing one of the answers that I had already crossed out. That's right, I'm an idiot. Oh well, a 77 is passing, so I won't drop the course. I was planning on dropping it and changing my minor to something other than marketing - hopefully I won't have to do that.

Totally different, I took a 2 hour nap today. I was exhausted from waking up at 10.30 this morning. I'm not really sure why I took a nap at all, but it was nice. However, I am not sleepy at all right now so I'm on here. I'm hoping to wake up at around 8.45 and go to an informational meeting concerning going to the Gulf Coast over fall break to help out with the Katrina clean up and such. We'll see how much that costs.

Until next time, be safe, be courteous.

Buckhead & Tests

It's kind of late, but I thought it needed to be known that a new restaurant in Bowling Green, Buckhead Cafe, donated all of it's money made on Tuesday to hurricane relief. Tips included. I went there for my first time on Tuesday with Laura, and I'll definitely be going back. It reminded me of Panera Bread, I'll have to try BC's panini's before I can say it's better or not. Buckhead cafe is owned by the same people that own a restaurant named Mariah's here in BG, and they modeled it after Mariah's. I have never been there, but I hear it's delicious.

Other news, I had tests in my two hardest classes today. Western Civ. & Microeconomics. I'm pretty confident on my Western Civ exam, microeconomics I have absolutely no clue how I did. I am relieved of so much pressure now that those tests are over with - now I can't wait for the next 3 or so tests in those classes!

Coldplay

Last night I went to the Coldplay concert. It was a great concert with the highlight of it being their cover of Johnny Cash's "Ring Of Fire". Who would have ever thought Coldplay would sing that song. Well, they seemed to be quite fond of him and they said Cash was their musical hero . . . I definitely wouldn't have thought he was their influence. Now, I'm sure most wouldn't say that was the highlight, but it was the part that I got the most excited about. Such as Matthew seemed to enjoy Clocks - he would be wrong though. That was not the best moment of the concert - the Johnny Cash cover was.

Anyhow, I just wanted to let it be known that I did not see Gwyneth Paltrow last night. Maybe next time, though. She's a pretty good actress, I won't lie to any of you about this.

I have a ton o' homework I need to be getting on tonight, it's 10:20 - the night is still young! I'll start on that soon, y'all be good now, ya hear?

Sprinkler System

I kid you not, I saw one of the funniest things last night. While I was walking to the parking structure to go to Wal-Mart, Janet and I ran into a predicament. The water sprinkler was spraying directly over the only sidewalk we could take. We decided we should walk to the right a bit and walk through the grass where the sprinklers weren't on. Another girl was already on top of that idea ahead of us. Right when she stepped into the grass the sprinklers turned on and hit her right in the face. She was almost knocked down by the shock and trying to get out of the way. Needless to say, Janet and I were laughing with all we have at this poor girl. We tried to hide behind the side of the building, but she ended up coming back around to us and asking if we saw her . . . she had a good sense of humor about it though, so that's good.

Just for your information, the Betty Crocker microwavable cakes are delicious.

Fires & Food

I am on the verge of being productive and going to the computer lab in the Mass Media & Tech. Hall to print out some stuff then study for my first microeconomics quiz which is tomorrow. However, that can wait.

Classes have been going well. I'm hoping I will do well in them all - if not, das ist leben! Early this morning around 4:30, I was awoken by the delightful sound of a fire alarm going off. I sat up, looked around for a second, then decided I should probably get out of bed. I looked around for something decent to put on since we were going to be outside with hundreds of other people, found a t-shirt and some gym shorts and decided I was thirsy. I went to my fridge to get a drink of water - Yum. Next I thought I should probably brush my teeth since I was going to be around people. I decided against that. All in all, I was sleeping great then that gets totally screwed up by a pointless fire drill. As if we don't know how to walk out of our building we live in.

Free food is always great, and the first week or two of school is an awesome time to enjoy this free food. I've had my fair share of free hamburgers, hot dogs, spaghetti, and pizza. It's going to be quite sad when all of this dies down. My econ. teacher is popping in my head right now saying "There's no such thing as a free meal! Think about the opportunity costs!!" Well screw that - the food was free for me.

I can't think of anything interesting to talk about at the moment, so before I bore you too bad I'll leave you be and I'll go study. Thanks for listening!

Gas/That's all.

So I've already had a week of schooling. It went great and all - now here I am back at home for Labor Day weekend. A lot has happened since I last wrote . . . well just one major thing, really. But I want to talk a bit about my drive home from WKU yesterday.

The last gas station I took notice of on the way back was selling gas for $2.77. Down from the high I had seen it in BG of $3.09 earlier in the week. Today I filled up with gas at the Hendersonville Exxon. How much did I pay for the regular gas? $3.29/gallon. As I was coming home, little ol' Foxland market, who always has the highest price in town, was selling their regular gas for $3.09/gallon. I just wanted to note the difference. Kind of an interesting thing to see, how fickle these gas prices can be.

I think I'll post pictures of my humble abode at WKU sometime so everyone can see how luxurious my living conditions are this year. I'm only kidding - it's a dorm, dorms can't be luxurious. I'll keep ya posted. And I'm going to try posting more even though I am at school - because I feel as if I don't have any time to, but in reality I have so much time to get on here and do a little post. Work with me here! For now - I'm out.
