Everyone knows I have nothing important to say. This is where I showcase my unimportantness.

Happy Thanksgiving

I thought I'd 'holla' at everyone and say that I truly hope you all had a happy thanksgiving. If not, maybe next year will be better. I had an awesome one, starting out in Madison, TN at my grandparents house for the celebration with my mom's side of the family. Delicious food and good times! Then we headed back to Gallatin, made a pit stop at the house, then headed over to join my dad's side of the family at my Aunt & Uncle's house. More food and some more good times were had there. I even met my cousin's new baby, Blaire. I'm not sure how to spell it, so forgive me! Blair's brother, Brice (again w/ the spelling) is at a great age to throw around and wrestle with - so that was fun. I'm leaving you with a picture of Blair and me - so enjoy it - and happy thanksgiving!

Grand Ole Opry

Living 20 minutes from Nashville, I consider myself to be from Nashville. I often heard of people talking about the Grand Ole Opry, especially Nana, my grandmother on my mom's side. I had never been to the Grand Ole Opry, though. Maybe I thought it was for older people who grew up to that old timey country twang, but for some reason, I felt as if I had been missing out on something by not going. It all changed last night. I went with Kyle Sanders to check out what the G.O.O. was all about.

It is usually held at the Opry House at Opryland, but the Rockette's were there so they had it downtown in the Ryman Auditorium. This was also my first time in the Ryman Auditorium, so that was an experience in its own right. To the right is a picture of me and Kyle anticipating the start of the show. It was somewhat of a star-studded night, with the legend Porter Waggoner, Rascal Flatts, Vince Gill, and Carrie Underwood of American Idol fame. I really enjoyed the layout of each band/person only playing 2 or 3 songs and then on to the next performance, really kept it fresh.

As hokey as it seems, I actually enjoyed the performances, with the highlight being the Opry Square Dancers. Good times were had. I'm gonna leave you with pictures of me and Kyle enjoying the company of Roy Acuff and Minnie Pearl.

Bart Simpson

Today I shook the hand of Bart Simpson. Sort of. Nancy Cartwright, the voice of Bart Simpson, came to ol' WKU to speak in Van Meter Auditorium tonight. Hearing her do the different voices was great - I chortled the whole night through. She spoke for quite a long time, so I at least got my money's worth. But wait, the show was free. How about that. Anyhow - at the end she asked people to come up and ask questions - being unoriginal like I am, I couldn't think of anything to ask her but I really wanted to hear my voice on the microphone and have somewhat of a conversation with Bart. Thanks to Heath, I was able to do that. I got up there, introduced myself, and asked Heath's question, "What is your favorite Moe's Tavern prank call?" Followed by oooh's from the audience because it was such a great question. Thanks for that Heath. 'Is there a Sexual? First name Homer?" Yeah, not too funny - I kinda phased out her answer because I was too worried seeing when she was done talking so I could ask for a handshake.

Truthfully right now I am extremely tired and I have an excruciating headache that started earlier today and got worse when the nervousness of asking Bart a question made the blood rush to my head. Anyhow - I'm gonna leave you with some pictures of the evening - including some of me talking to Bart herself - they aren't the best - but I still thank Heath for it all.

Hot Hot Heat

I randomly went to Louisville today with my concert buddy of the year (Matthew) to see one of my most well liked bands, Hot Hot Heat. The drive was well worth it! Hopefully they'll change their minds and come to Nashville because I'd love to see them again. I find all of their songs to be crazy catchy, so every song you pretty much know. Well, if you've heard their CD's. Matthew also got a new car that we took and saved on gas for sure - a 2006 Honda Civic. It was a nice little car and the whole gas thing amazed me.

On another note - there seemed to have been some tornadoes this weekend. I didn't realize that until a few minutes ago - one was even maybe 30 minutes away, according to my roommate. Amazing how this weather works.

Anyhow, I'm tired like crazy and I'm sorry for taking so long to update. I'm going to bed!!
