Everyone knows I have nothing important to say. This is where I showcase my unimportantness.

Winding Down

It's close to the end of the semester and summer is so near I can taste it. I've been busy figuring out my schedule for next semester. I'm at 18 hours and not happy about it. I've decided to stick with marketing for my minor - it shouldn't be too bad since I only have to take one more economics class. I just realized I'll have to take another math class. That sucks. Are there any easy minors that would be interesting? Easy meaning no math classes over 109 and no economics classes. I kid though, it won't be bad at all. I'm somewhat nervous about exams, as well as a couple of papers that need to be written before the semester is over.

Gwen Stefani has gotten quite fat. I've been scolded by females for saying a pregnant woman is fat, but you know what I mean. And hey, I'm kinda fat so I can call others out on it. That's going to be one hot baby, though. At least when it grows up. The genes are in its favor.

I don't have anything else to say. I need something interesting before I write another one. Maybe I'll be on the lookout.

Tornado

I'm sure everyone's seen the tornado coverage on the news. Everyone I know is okay, but there were around 11 deaths from the storms on the 7th. Yesterday I went with Brandon Green into his neighborhood which was hit hard and took a few pictures - I was one of those people that they complain about being in the way. I wasn't in the way though, don't get me wrong. Anyhow, there isn't much to say other than it's amazing that more people weren't killed. Brandon's house had minimal damage to it, with broken windows and a hole in the roof . . . two houses down from his is where all the houses started to be pretty much flattened by the tornado. I'm gonna leave it at that and with a picture that shows hardly any of the damage at all. Check out the tennesseans website for more. (picture isn't loading for some reason - now it is.)

No Sleep & Chris Clark

Today I took naps at various locations on campus to compensate for my poor sleep schedules during the past two nights. Tuesday night my BCOM 266 lab group had to go to the studio at 11 to work on our talk show we were filming on Wednesday morning. I didn't leave that studio until 4am. I came to the room and ended up falling asleep a little after 5. I then had to wake up at 6:30 to be in the studio at 7:30 . . . 1 and a half hours of sleep. Long story short about the talk show, it went quite well; better than any of us expected.

Of more interesting news (to me at least), is that after the talk show, I drove down to Nashville to go to the News Channel 5 studio and shadow Chris Clark. As everyone knows, Chris Clark is the best anchor in Nashville. He also hired Oprah for her first television job. I was with him from 3:30 until 8, and he was a really great guy. He allowed me to sit in on the different newscasts, and go back and forth between the studio and the control room to see how they did it all. It was all a lot different than our tiny studio here on campus.

A small thing that I got excited about was when I was sitting in his office while he was reading over his scripts. He wasn't happy with the way a sentence was written and was trying to figure out how to fix it . . . that's where I came in. He ended up retyping the sentence and used it in the newscast. I'm just happy I was able to meet him and see him in action before he retires next year. So to sum it up, Chris Clark is amazing.

Another thing that I thought to be newsworthy is that afterwards I met up with Brandon Green and ate at J. Alexander's in West End. It's newsworthy because I haven't seen him in what seems to be close to a year. Other than that, the drive home at 11pm, on a little over an hour of sleep wasn't too fun.
